Monday (9am?) Memorial Day commemoration in Mosman Park

The Searsport Memorial Day parade starts at 9 a.m. from the Public Safety building. No parade in 2021 because of the extra large July celebrations.

Fourth of July

The 4th of July festivities are put on by many different groups and vendors throughout the town. Here is a little bit of what you might find at this year’s celebration! (Please double-check details elsewhere for 2021 due to pandemic changes. We will try to keep this page up to date.)

Thursday, July 1st
5 pm – 8 pm -“Ripped from the Headlines” – Penobscot Marine Museum, 2 Church St

Friday, July 2nd –
10 am – Walking Tour with Charlene Knox Farris starting in front of the Congregational Church on Church Street
3:30 to 6 pm – Concert – Belfast Bay Fiddlers – Penobscot Marine Museum’s Crescent Park
3:30 to 5 pm – Take Out Dinner – Kindness Program – Congregational Church
7 pm – Concert – Tim Sample – High School gym. Tickets on sale $20

Saturday, July 3rd
7:30 am – Row Boat Races at Hamilton Wharf – Wayne Hamilton
8 am – 5K Foot Race – Sponsored by ?
9 am to 11 am – Community activities (Craft & Food Booths)
Corn Hole Game – (James)
9 am – 1 pm – Methodist Food wagon serving hamburgers & Hot dogs
10 am-1 pm – Games & Crafts on the Penobscot Marine Museum Crescent Park
10 am-5 pm – Free Admission to the Penobscot Marine Museum
10 am – Lobster Rolls by America Legion
11 am – Parade – to start at Norris St. to Mortland Road
11 am – Lion’s Club Chicken Barbecue at the Masonic Hall
Noon to 4 pm Art Show at Mermaid Plaza
1 to 3 pm – Poker Run – Historic Preservation Committee
3:00 to 4:30 pm – Concert – Local Fiddler’s Group
5 pm – Supper – McFarlin’s Lobster Rolls – (location)
7 pm – Variety Show – Searsport Historical Society – Union Hall

Sunday, July 4th
1 pm – Concert – featuring Tarin Connor at the Mermaid Plaza
2 pm to 3:30 – Clamming demonstration – Sears Island – Shellfish Committee
Green Crab Hunt – Sears Island – Shellfish Committee (Children Must be accompanied by an adult)
3 pm – Concert – Saxaphone Quartet at the Mermaid Plaza
5 pm – Vendors in Mosman Park
6 to 9 pm – Concert in Mosman Park – Jump City Social Club
9 pm – The Biggest Show of Fireworks Searsport has ever had!!!

*Fireworks traffic – please be advised – Prospect, Mortland, Steamboat, & Norris, parking only on exit out. Throughout town, RIGHT TURNS ONLY will be permitted following the fireworks.

**Parking the municipal parking areas such as the town office and behind the laundromat is highly recommended!

September, First week – Fiber College

October, first or second weekend – Fling into Fall

A parade, a bonfire, an antique car show, hayrides, scarecrow contests and craft fairs are just some of the offerings.

December, First Friday – Tree Lighting on the Crescent

Celebrate the season with Searsport and the Penobscot Marine Museum! Revel in holiday activities including the Town of Searsport’s tree lighting at 5:30pm on the Museum’s crescent.

Visit Santa, make your own Christmas ornament, shop for holiday gifts in the mobile Museum store, vote on your favorite gingerbread lighthouse, and enjoy refreshments in Old Vestry. Then walk or drive around the Penobscot Marine Museum campus to see doorways adorned with wreaths created by local businesses and organizations.
